First time on a hare and tortoise event and only signed up a few weeks ago. Was surprised to see that all the morning events were sold out and only the afternoon half marathon available, which suited me anyway as I like a lay in on Sunday.
Must be a good event if it was sold out so snapped up my entry at a very reasonable price.

Turning up and the morning races were coming to an end and the 6 hour challenge in full swing. Had a lovely coffee in the tea room there and waited for are race to begin.
Well planned out course and loved the freedom of running both sets of 5km courses. We done 2 laps in each but could do your favourite 4 times if you wanted.
Although we didn’t stop long, the feed stations were well stocked including fruits, sweets, soft drinks and my personal favourite, fredo bars.
Finishing up we had the choice of medals which I found a bit strange. Would like to see a dedicated medal to each event but I picked the original colours and wore it with pride on the walk back to the car.

I liked the fact there was a heated changing room in the form of the scout hut 20m away and was a very well organised event.
Got my results that evening too so massive kudos to them.

Will be back for another event in the future

We are always welcomed and given the same kudos as the faster runners. We are never made to feel a burden despite always being the last to finish and leave with the bonus bananas xxx

The medals are always amazing!

Thank you for such a brilliant, friendly event and such a great location too! Very well organised and fantastic having so many options on distance too, plus with the option of route!

Amazing support and lots of encouragement by the hosts and other runners. Great aid station and snacks / drinks. Great routes either side out and back which makes it feel less pressure like other events as you can have a break and go back out at your own pace. Can’t wait for next year !!

A good event for all abilities, at an interesting venue.
A choice of collectable medals too !

Decided to book this event as it was local and I wanted something to get me training through the winter after getting very lazy with my training.
The plan was to run with no pressure and just enjoy the day. This was my first H&T event, and I have to say the loops worked really well as I tended to focus on the short loop rather than the full distance. Before I knew it I had completed the distance and was done. The support was amazing and the snacks provided even better (haven’t had a Freddo for years)! A great, well organised local event. Will definitely be looking at other H&T events

I love the events, it’s a shame I moved away and can’t do as many as I’d want. I loved being able to have an old/ different medal to the Rayne one I have from the Covid sale.
Your events are great for beginners (depending on how much they’ve run before) and it is a community, it’s always lovely to have the better runners smile or congratulate or encourage others when running past.
I champion your events for this reason, the bling (medals) & drinks/ food stop.

Event was great and said before great choice of medals which I have informed my running buddies of.

There is always a big welcome at Hare and Tortoise events. Always feels like coming home. Only downside, they dont always get the weather right. But, I wouldnt have it any other way. x

Despite the conditions, all was good. Friendly, enthusiastic organisers. Clear route with good facilities (toilets, hall and snack/drinks table).

From the route, the communication to the consistently friendly encouraging faces, this events team have become a definite favourite. Thank you for all the help, kindness and advice… not to mention the rivers haha
