Crispy crew canter the canal
What a beautiful place to run and today the weather was so amazing it made for a perfect spring running day! It’s grim up north? Not today! It’s a perfect kind of event up north? Yes! Stunning scenery, great route, wonderful views and amazing underfoot!
Fabulous Marshalls there to make you feel extra special and keep everyone safe, always tricky with so many different options in distances to run, but so well managed that there’s no stress and all is well!!!
Finish line snacks! Wow! Incredible! Just amazing, endless supply and choices to cover everyone!
I guess you could say it’s a great event!
There’s never a feeling of excitement from the people at the finish line, it’s like you need to bring a finish line crew if you want cheers, I’ve never known it anywhere else, usually everyone supports everyone but this wasn’t my first time and it was the same before, silence, weird? I definitely cheered for everyone who crossed the line after I’d finished!
Oh the toilets at the start and finish… absolute winner!!!!
Thank you for the feedback
Excellent event would defo recommend

Thank you
Fantastic run along the lovely canal tow path.
Thank you
Great friendly event, great post run food and atmosphere
Poor prerace communication, would expect an email with registration and route details but nothing. Registration a bit chaotic on the day as a result
Hi Andrea, thanks for your feedback Our website contains the maps, registration and start times. Also on the race page under "important things to note" is this section: "We no longer mail out a race brief as most of the information is here on the website however we advise you to visit our FAQ section and join the “Grim Up North Chat” group on Facebook which will help with any other questions you have." We found that too many mails sent to junk and so we simply put all the info on the website.
