A tough event, great value, beautiful scenery, well organised and amazing Marshalls. Special thanks for their support today in very wet conditions.

The amount of thought put into the medal, t-shirt, buff and 3D printed gradient run route is a nice touch.

Organiser comment:

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, Thomas. The Portland Coastal is a winter trail event run entirely on natural coastal terrain. Mud, exposed cliff-top paths and changing weather conditions are inherent parts of the South West Coast Path — particularly in February. This is not a closed-road race, and the course follows established public footpaths. Installing fencing along sections of the Coast Path is neither practical nor appropriate for the type of event this is. We provide clear pre-race information, mandatory kit requirements and medical cover, but trail running requires participants to assess conditions and take personal responsibility for their footing and decisions on the day — including choosing to withdraw if they feel uncomfortable. We’re pleased you enjoyed the atmosphere and scenery, and we appreciate your feedback.

Great route: friendly, funnily atmosphere: a proper test.

Great course, challenging and unforgiving, but beautiful and enjoyable.

Brutal but stonkingly good!

There’s something about this event that keeps drawing me back - or maybe it’s the RD’s aftershave? Thank you to all the helpers !

Emphasise ‘trail’ run more in the advertising as extreme hills and mud and change out commentator as he is the most miserable person I’ve ever met.

The supporter/Marshalls are brilliant, route is well signposted / directed. Slog of a route and this year was more like a tough mudder.

Organiser comment:

Thank you for the feedback, Douglas. We’re pleased you’d recommend the event and that you valued the support from the marshals and the organisation on the day. The Portland Coastal is a winter coastal trail event, and the focus on race morning is delivering a clear safety brief and getting runners underway efficiently in challenging conditions. It isn’t designed to be a theme-park style send-off — the terrain and the elements provide more than enough theatre. We’ll continue to position the event clearly as a demanding Coastal Trail Race so expectations align with what February on Portland delivers. We appreciate you taking the time to comment.

This is my first running for 2026. I did enjoy so much. The event organised very well, the cost of entry are good

I would like to express my gratitude to all the marshals who stood in the rain to support and encourage the runners.
