Such a beautiful, brilliant, warm race with top organisation, stunning views and a friendly welcome. Having had an injury I was so pleased to see the 5 mile trail race for the first time this year and hope it'll be back again!
Fantastically organised event if tough.
Great event. Well organised and very friendly. Loved the race and the scenery. It is tough but fab. Beginners should do the half to start with!!
Improvements: An improved medal would be great, event at slightly increased cost.
Thanks for a brilliant day!

Great event, love it ❤️
Favourite event ever! The course was really challenging for me but i will be back stronger and fitter for next year.
Great race. An annual fixture in my calendar
Fantastic event and brilliantly organised
Definitely enter again next year!!
Always great fun!
Don't get injured in the weeks leading up to the race and try and get a refund
As someone who read the terms and conditions when I entered back in jan,so I can't plead ignorance, but had to pull out a few weeks ago due to injury,I was still a little disappointed to be unable to defer,or get a refund from Eventbrite,as I hadn't paid for a doctor's cert.lesson learned though,as I won't enter this race again if eventbrite are running it.
Fantastic event, stunning views in a beautiful landscape
Much appreciated the support on the course with regular aid stations and people checking your numbers so that they always knew were you were. Also welcomed the measures taken to reduce plastic! Tough course, so very rewarding to finish it.
A beautiful marathon!
Can't rate the organisation highly enough. You had some great volunteers around the course and lots of checkpoints for the marathon. Fortunately, we were blessed with a light breeze across most of the hills and the route was stunning. Will be back for more next year.
Brilliant!
Perfect day for a run through Sussex countryside. The race was well organised and ran on time with an easy bag drop and enough amenities for everyone. I did the 5 mile route and it was equally challenging and enjoyable with great views and technical footpaths. The 5 miler did come up about half a mile short but it didn’t matter as such a nice day and is understandable as it was a new distance for the event this year.
I would definitely recommend this event and would like to try the longer distances in future.
Thanks to all the volunteers and organisers for putting on a great event!
A tough event with beautiful scenery
I've put a maybe regarding "Was this friendly to beginners" I wonder if the 6 hour cut off puts pressure on some people, could this be extended? perhaps start the marathon at 8:00 am to give people 1 more hour.
Other than that a great event, well supported by marshalls. Also a great not to handout plastic drink cups, I thought it worked well having your own bottles topped up.
Beautiful scenery, warm and friendly people.
Thank you for putting on such a thoughtful race. Lovely location and well organised.
Beautiful scenery, great course, plenty of water stations
The 3hour cut off was tight for 15.5 miles. We just made it, but finished 30 minutes before full cut off. So perhaps should be reviewed?
thoroughly enjoyed, ill be there next year for sure!
Organisation was perfection. Lovely event
Too many dogs (not the organisers fault). Lovely day
Tough but rewarding
Tough but fun
This was my fifth marathon but my first trail one. I loved it.
The scenery was amazing, the event was really well run and really friendly. All of the marshalls and the people at the aid stations were fantastic.
The nickname "the tough one" is well deserved. I will definitely be back.
super super tough marathon - 6 hour cut off a little brutal
please allow the finishers 6.5 hours - this is not a normal ultra and so an extra 30 mins would keep the atmosphere for the marathon finishers
Excellent Race, very tough. Amazing support staff, very friendly.
The course is very tough and unforgiving, lots of hills and tricky surfaces at points. Not for the faint-hearted. Only minor issue was the signage - on 3 occasions I had to ask which way as there were no signs indicating the route (usually when it might look 'obvious', but as a first-timer I got a bit confused). Will do it again.
Did half marathon last year, enjoyed it so much thought I stretch myself and do full one. Yes it was tough and really great experience at the same time. Highly recommend!!
