Information

Sporting Events UK presents the Tour d'Amour, the Love Tour of Europe Virtual Challenge!

To celebrate Valentines Day in February, we are brining you a month long Virtual Love Tour of Europe. We would like lots of you to get involved and see, as our Sporting Buddies, if we can collectively run the tour route which covers London, Paris, Pisa, Rome, Venice, Vienna and Brussels in the month of February - that's 3000 miles! You can run as many times as you want during the month to help reach the total, logging each of your runs on our portal here.

We are also raising money in this challenge for CALM. The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this. You can find out more about their important work at https://www.thecalmzone.net/

We are supporting this charity in memory of Paddy Sullivan who marshalled at the first year of our Bridge 5k event and sadly passed away in 2019.

There will be some great prizes too! The categories will include: Furthest Distance during the Challenge, Most Runs, Best Love Selfie - celebrating your loved one or your love for running and some fun spot prizes too - so whatever your ability you might just win a prize.

Everyone will get a special medal to celebrate the challenge.

FAQs:

Is there an age limit?

The challenge is open all ages. However, anyone under 18 must run with an adult.

How do I keep safe when running in the area?

Make sure you adhere to the Government Social Distancing Guidelines when on your run. Please keep a safe 2M distance from anyone outside of your household, and remember under the current government guidelines you can only run with one other person at the same time. We recommend you run in daylight hours and stick to routes you are familiar with.

How can I track how far I am running?

The easiest way to do this is to use an app on your smartphone that tracks your run for you. Free examples of this include the Nike Run Club, Google Fit and Strava.

When does the challenge end?

The challenge ends at 10pm on 28th February 2021.

Good luck everyone! Don’t forget to let us know how you are getting on using #seukchallenge on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
